Alison King has been told by the ITV makers of Coronation Street that her character of Carla Connor has to start smoking again. Alison was a smoker in real life but successfully gave it up. Alison King is pregnant with her first baby. The father is Coronation Street soundman Adam Huckett. To play the part Alison will be given herbal cigarettes.

One source stated “She isn’t best pleased. It was hard enough for her to give up in real life. And even inhaling smoke from herbal tobacco surely can’t be a good thing for a mum-to-be.”

Alison King is pregnant, Alison has been dating one of Coronation Street’s sound guys, Adam Huckett, for the last year.

Alison, who plays Carla Connor in the popular soap, is due to give birth in February. Adam and Alison have been dating since last year, after Alison split form Jim Alexander and are currently living together in Manchester. Alison and Adam are “over the moon” at the news.

The Corrie writers will now need to find a storyline for Carla Connor to miss a few months.
